Multiple sclerosis is the most common neurological disease leading to disability in young adults.

The cause is still unknown, and there is no cure.

MS can cause blurred vision, loss of balance, poor coordination, slurred speech, tremors, numbness, extreme fatigue and even paralysis and blindness. These symptoms might be permanent, or they might come and go.

OUR VISION AND MISSION

The vision of the National MS Society is a world free of MS. We mobilize people and resources to drive research for a cure and to address the challenges of everyone affected by MS.

Last year alone, the Society:

  • invested over $50 million to support 440 research projects around the world.
  • devoted over $136 million to programs that enhanced more than one million lives.
